On 21th June (U.S.A. time), the official website of MSC announces: Ocean Family’s large-scale tuna purse seining fishing fleet wins the MSC fishery certification, which will be valid for 5 years. This is the first Chinese distant water fisheries enterprise which wins such certification.
Ocean Family officially sent the application for MSC fishery certification at May 2017, focusing on the fishing operation of its large-scale purse seining fishing fleet in the Western and Central Pacific area. Achieving the MSC fishery certification means the recognition and acceptance for the sustainable development mode of the company’s purse seining fishing fleet. Skipjack tuna, yellowfin tuna and other products caught by the company’s purse seining fishing fleet can carry the logo of MSC, which will benefit the market access to the markets of EU and U.S.A.
