On February 21, 2011, the grand completion ceremony of super-frozen tuna cold storage and processing base was held in Ningbo Free Trade Zone. Gathered at the occasion, were Mr.Xia Aguo, the Deputy Secretary General of the CPC of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Cui Lifeng, Deputy Secretary of Bureau of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and hundreds of guests from relevant departments, industries as well as business partners from both home and abroad. The event added a touch of spring festival colors in Ningbo.
Zhejiang Ocean Family Co., Ltd. invested USD 5 million in April 2010 to build up the base, which has a 1000 tonnage super-frozen cold storage with an annual processing capacity of 10000 tons. The base was finished in mid Dec, 2010 and has been put into trial operation since then. The completion of the base has not only opened a new chapter in the history of the company on the extension of industrial chain, and the realization of upgrading of fishing industry, but also filling the blank of such business in China’s south of the Yangtze River, and being the first in the region to export and distribute super-frozen tuna products in the domestic market.
After the completion, the base will focus on the fine and deep processing of super-frozen tuna, while having the solid export markets, will vigorously develop the domestic market to meet the demands of domestic consumers who pay attention to natural, green and healthy seafood.
At the completion ceremony, the company was awarded by the China Ocean Fisheries Association to use the Identification of “Pure Ocean Fishery Products”. Unveiled the name board for the Super-frozen Tuna Cold Storage and Processing Base, were Mr. Xia Aguo, the Vice Secretary-General of the CPC of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Cui Lifeng, Deputy Secretary of the Bureau of Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Zhao Limin, director of Ocean and Fishery Bureau of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Chen Yuanxiang, deputy director of Ocean Fisheries Bureau of Ningbo City, Mr. Yan Rongjie, deputy director of Ningbo Free Trade Zone Administrative Committee, Mr. Huang Baoshan, deputy director of Ocean Fisheries Branch, the China Fisheries Association, Mr. Tsunao Kijima，chief representative in China for Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, Mr. Toshirou Tsuboi president of Japan Toshiro Cold Storage Corporation, Ms. Lv Shuzhen, Taiwan Fengqun Seafood Limited ,and vice president of Wanxiang Group, and Chairman of Zhejiang Ocean Family Co., Ltd. At the present were also guests from the same trade in Japan, Hongkong and Taiwan, China’s large fisheries companies, and domestic food service groups.
